He said the French are actually \"jealous\" of the English language, so if they have to speak English it is actually forced.<br \/><br \/>I think he should have lived in Indonesia for a long time and married an Indonesian woman to become a \"convert\".<br \/><br \/>\"No, my wife is Laotian. It took me a long time to really learn about it and then be convinced. And even now I still don't feel like a good Muslim. I'm still learning.\"<br \/><br \/>I told him, that's exactly what's good. Because nowadays, there are many people who are confident of going to heaven just because they are \"inherited Muslims\", but they don't behave like Muslims.<br \/><br \/>\"That's the way it is. In France the image of Islam is not very good because of a group of fanatics and terrorism. But I'm happier in Indonesia than in Muslim countries in Arabia, for example. Bahasa Indonesianya pun lancar sekali, dan dia menolak diajak berbahasa Inggris. Kata dia, orang Perancis sebenarnya “cemburu” dengan bahasa Inggris, sehingga kalau mereka harus berbahasa Inggris itu sebenarnya terpaksa. Saya kira mestinya dia sudah lama tinggal di Indonesia dan menikah dengan wanita Indonesia sehingga menjadi “mualaf”. “Tidak, istri saya orang Laos. Dan dia Buddhist. ” jawab monsieur Jean yang di usianya yang ke-51 dia merupakan bule cowok magang tertua di Keboen Kopi Karanganjar. “Lalu belajar Islam dari mana monsieur (pak)?” Ternyata awal dia tertarik Islam ketika belajar bahasa Arab (dan bahasa Indonesia) di universitas. Setelah itu dia mulai belajar terjemahan Alquran dan sejarah Islam. “Tapi saya lambat sekali dalam berproses menjadi Muslim. Butuh waktu lama untuk benar-benar mempelajarinya lalu yakin. Dan sampai sekarang pun saya masih belum merasa jadi Muslim yang baik. Saya masih terus belajar.” Saya bilang ke dia, justru yang seperti itulah yang bagus. Karena sekarang banyak orang yang sudah pede masuk surga hanya modal “Muslim warisan”, tapi kelakuan ga dijaga selayaknya Muslim . “Ya begitulah. Di Perancis image terhadap Islam tidak terlalu baik gara-gara sekelompok orang fanatik dan terorisme. Tapi saya lebih senang di Indonesia dibandingkan negara Muslim di Arab misalnya. Di sini lebih terbuka dan menerima perbedaan. Islam bisa berdampingan dengan budaya lokal”, kata monsieur Jean yang profesinya adalah chef tersebut.<\/p>","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":2646,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2645","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-meneer-notes"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/dekaranganjar.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2645","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/dekaranganjar.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/dekaranganjar.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/dekaranganjar.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/4"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/dekaranganjar.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=2645"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/dekaranganjar.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2645\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/dekaranganjar.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/2646"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/dekaranganjar.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2645"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/dekaranganjar.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=2645"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/dekaranganjar.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=2645"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
