In fact, it tends to be quiet. When there aren't many people at the cafe, I sometimes take the opportunity to learn a foreign language from the interns who work as a hostess at OG Cafe.<\/p>\n<p>Like this afternoon, I learnt Spanish from an Argentinian duo: Barbara &amp; Mathias.<\/p>\n<p>It's one of my favourite languages and I'm not a stranger to it, because I've been watching Telenovelas since I was a kid: _\"Maria Mercedes pa' servirle a usted...\"_ (whoever is singing along?)\u00a0<span class=\"x3nfvp2 x1j61x8r x1fcty0u xdj266r xhhsvwb xat24cr xgzva0m xxymvpz xlup9mm x1kky2od\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t20\/1\/16\/1f61c.png\" alt=\"????\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/><\/span>)<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, I have never seriously learnt this language, until today when I had the opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>Argentina - the land of super dribblers like Maradona &amp; Messi, like other Latin American countries, uses Spanish as its national language.<\/p>\n<p>The difference is in the accent. Argentinians have a unique accent with the \"sshyh\" sound, which distinguishes them from other Spanish-speaking people.<\/p>\n<p>Suppose:<\/p>\n<p>\"What's your name?\" in Spanish would be \"como te llamas (pronounced: yyamas)\", but in an Argentinian accent it would be: \"como te shyamas?\"<\/p>\n<p>\"Tortilla\" pronounced \"Tortiyya\" becomes \"Tortishya\".<\/p>\n<p>\"Villareal\" pronounced \"Viyyareal\" becomes \"Vishyareal\".<\/p>\n<p>\"Mallorca\" pronounced \"Mayyorka\" becomes \"Mashyorka\".<\/p>\n<p>So that's a glimpse of info about Spanish ... eh Argentina.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, the word for \"bullet\" in Spanish is \"bala\", not \"bullet\" like in English.<\/p>\n<p>If \"bullet\" is read as \"busyet\"...<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"x3nfvp2 x1j61x8r x1fcty0u xdj266r xhhsvwb xat24cr xgzva0m xxymvpz xlup9mm x1kky2od\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t1a\/1\/16\/1f1ee_1f1e9.png\" alt=\"????????\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/><\/span><span class=\"x3nfvp2 x1j61x8r x1fcty0u xdj266r xhhsvwb xat24cr xgzva0m xxymvpz xlup9mm x1kky2od\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t48\/1\/16\/1f1e6_1f1f7.png\" alt=\"????????\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/><\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Written on 20 July 2022 By : Wima Brahmantya Weekdays are not as busy as weekends.
