De Karanganjar Koffieplantage is located on the slopes of Mount Kelud, in Modangan Village, Nglegok District, Blitar Regency, at an elevation of approximately 475–650 meters above sea level.
The plantation was established in 1874 by H. J. Velsink and Hendrik van Vredenbergh. It was later managed by NV Cultuur Maatschappij Karanganjar.

A History That Keeps Moving
From a coffee plantation established in 1874 to a living heritage destination today, De Karanganjar has passed through generations of change while remaining rooted in the same landscape.
1874–1945
THE EARLY YEARS
De Karanganjar Koffieplantage was established in 1874 by H. J. Velsink and Hendrik van Vredenbergh. It was later managed by NV Cultuur Maatschappij Karanganjar.
In 1942, the arrival of the Japanese brought plantation activities to a halt. Karanganjar entered a period of inactivity.
1945–1957
A PERIOD OF TRANSITION
After Indonesia gained independence, De Karanganjar Koffieplantage gradually resumed operations.
The plantation was briefly managed by NV Kooy & Voorhout, followed by the government Plantation Service.

A NEW PERIOD
1957–1963
FROM NATIONALIZATION TO PT HARTA MULIA
In 1957, the Indonesian government nationalized foreign-owned companies.
Denny Roeshadi, who had previously worked at De Karanganjar, took over the management of the plantation.
In 1960, Denny established PT Harta and obtained a cultivation right to manage the plantation. In 1963, PT Harta was renamed PT Harta Mulia.
1963–PRESENT
THREE GENERATIONS
After Denny Roeshadi, management of the plantation was passed on to his two sons, Herry Noegroho and Endro Hermono, and later to his grandson, Wima Brahmantya.
With the arrival of the third generation, Keboen Kopi Karanganjar entered a new chapter.
2016
A NEW CHAPTER
The plantation began welcoming visitors in 2016.
2017
A TOURISM DESTINATION
De Karanganjar was officially introduced as a tourist destination in 2017.
The plantation continued. The story evolved.
Today, De Karanganjar remains a place where coffee, history, people and preserved collections meet.
