This is a photo taken almost one month ago by the De Karanganjar team for the Kelud Expedition.
Unfortunately, we arrived at the crater around 5pm and the conditions were very foggy. It was difficult to take clear pictures of the crater, especially since our photographer was extremely tired, having climbed from 6.30am to arrive at Kelud Crater at 5pm.
Yes, this was an expedition to pioneer the Kelud hiking trail via De Karanganjar. Although from the De Karanganjar tourist area to get to the door of the Kelud jungle, you have to take a pickup first on a journey of about 30 minutes across a large plantation area.
This was an unforgettable experience. A journey full of struggle and challenging dangers. We did not expect that the route would be that extreme. It's not just "mountain climbing", it's "rock climbing" hahaha...
Unfortunately, we did not bring adequate equipment at the time. At least to accommodate 13 cross-country climbers: Indonesia, Germany, France, and Argentina.
That's why I'm very grateful that we all returned home safely without any injuries. Imagine if there had been casualties, falling off a cliff or being crushed by a rock, for example. My name would have made headlines this month along with the EO manager who burnt down Teletubbies Hill.
Certainly, the success of the Kelud Expedition via De Karanganjar will be the basis for opening Kelud Hiking tour packages via De Karanganjar in the future.
Coffee and Volcano.. what a combination 👍
For those who want to know the twists and turns of the Kelud Expedition, you can watch the video on De Karanganjar's YouTube channel tomorrow night.
