An interesting experience tonight was accompanying two Indian interns who were celebrating Diwali.
Diwali or Deepavali is one of the most important festivals in Indian Hindu society, where it is a celebration of the victory of light over darkness. The story behind this festival is the return of Rama with Shinta, after defeating Ravana.
Tonight's celebration was very simple, attended by only two Indians, one Jordanian, and six people from De Karanganjar. One of them was Jaga Nusantara, fortunately Tuyul has had experience with various world cultures since childhood.
After the Indians prayed, we were invited to eat pandan-flavoured sweet cakes, and also ngrokoti young coconuts.
Tomorrow afternoon this Indian duo will cook Indian Food for us. Chicken curry, chawal, and chai.. yummy, can't wait for tomorrow.. I'm typing this while drooling 🤤
