In anything, consistency is one of the keys to success. Managing a YouTube channel is no exception, which is not as easy as many people think.
When you first open a YouTube channel for De Karanganjar, you have to be heartened when you see videos only watched by dozens of people. Just being able to break through 100-200 views at that time was very happy.
It's bittersweet, but "the show must go on". We just keep uploading content consistently. While groping, what type of content should characterise this channel. Because there are indeed many, even too many sides that can be explored from De Karanganjar.
In the end, I decided that the hallmark of this channel is "cross culture over coffee". Considering that many interns come from all over the world, each with their own story to tell.
There are those who say that the content is 'too heavy', especially since the majority of podcasts are in English, although they are always subtitled. But we don't care, we keep going. After all, we have that kind of unique material. Should we replace it with dancing content just to get more viewers?
Finally, the consistency is starting to pay off. In the past month, the spike in viewers on our channel has been drastic. Not just on YouTube, but also on FB and IG.
A week ago, we celebrated our 2000th subscriber, and then in the New Year it went up to 5000 subscribers.
Three days later, by this afternoon we had 10,000 subscribers on YouTube alone. That's all organic, not the result of advertising or buying stealth subscribers.
We hope that the content on YouTube will not only promote De Karanganjar and Blitar, but also provide more value to educate its audience, both in terms of knowledge about coffee, history, and the unique culture of nations around the world.
